Tested: Kia Cerato

Wheels 24 -- A surprise is something that catches you off guard, throws you off a little bit. Kia’s marketing slogan carries the phrase, "The Power to Surprise" and, as someone who's made a fair number of promises before, I know you had better make good on your promises. And that’s exactly what Kia's Cerato is - a rather surprising package.

According to Kia, the new Cerato has been recreated from the ground up and the engineers concentrated on a few key areas - styling, fuel economy and competitive performance.

Well, he didn't talk about it, but doesn't Kia have the 100,000 mile / 10 year bumper to bumper warranty?

Do you think someone in a Dodge Ram Diesel or a Chevy 2500 backing up will see them before it's too late to have to peel it out of their tire?...LOL

Sorry folks, still can't see folksy tiny unsafe cars.

Never owned a Korean import, but their quality is supposedly light-years ahead of where they were a few years ago.

If Kia follows the steps that made Hyundai such a high quality car, they will do fine.

Remember, it took Hyundai a quarter-century from the Excel P.O.S. to the highly desirable cars they produce today

The Cerato looks just like the Forte sedan as sold in the U. S. and Canada.

As regards Kia quality, it has improved tremendously since Hyundai took over the company several years ago.

Seems like a puff piece (ad) for Kia.

One quote that was interesting to me is: "The steering on the other hand is a disappointment." Seems this potentially could be as big a story as the one Toyota has been in for the past few weeks.

Perceived perceptions are hard to abandon - they linger on forever. Once a lemon, always a lemon!

Who's the idiot that wrote this article? The word "extremely" should not be used as a noun!

Here's the one to send some one off the deep end. I heard that Russia is now planning to drill for oil in the gulf of Mexico. I hope this is not true. We'll have a new car the commrade KiaCoupe.
